Hi all,
I have a problem with Outlook 2003, when trying to download
messages from pop3 server. I have 2 pop3 accounts and 1
imap 4, messages from them are downloaded in Outlook but
sometimes and it happens irregularly the error
"(0x8004210A) Time for operation was exceeded" occurs. But
via telnet I can login to my account and retr every message
fine. I have very fast connection to the internet and its
happening on both my pop3 accounts.

Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance

Do you have incoming and outgoing e-mail scanning enabled in your
virusscanner? Disable it and see if it still happens. The on-access scanner
from your virusscanner is sufficient protection already.

Tips of the month:
-Setting Permissions on a Mailbox
-Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3

Thanks for your answer I will try it.

.

zuzkins,
This is typical for outlook & outlook express.
If you had a virus scanner enabled the error would be 0x800CCC0F.
I have many examples of these "BAD" messages, all SPAM.
There is something in the message that Outlook can not handle.
I have had to use a web based e-mail client to delete or move the "BAD"
messages as my account is not POP 3 based.
