outlook 2003 generates error report on exit

Ocassionaly when I exit Outlook 2003 it generates an error report. I can find
no rhyme or reason. Thanks!
 
Do you have any 3rd party addins installed? (some addins don't shutdown
cleanly and cause outlook to barf on close. find that addin and the errors
will stop.)
 
I have two other pieces of software that I am aware of tied to Outlook and
that is Active Sync(not sure which version at the moment) for My Dell Axim
and Norton Internet Internet Security 2005. Do either of these qulify as an
add in that causes problems? Thanks.
 
ActiveSync has been known to keep Outlook 2003 resident in memory. The
latest version is 3.8.

NIS2005 brings its own set of joys to Outlook 2003. The biggest problem
this group has seen with Symantec/Norton products is centered around
POP3/SMTP connections. (duplicate messages, failure to send/receive, .etc)
This could have installed an addin as well. Might want to take a peek at
Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Addin Manager. Do you have
something listed as LDVP? (This is the name of the addin for their
Corporate products.)
 
I am currently running active sync 3.7.1. SHould I download and install 3.8
or can I even do this because of the version that came on my PDA? As far as
add in manger I do not have LDVP I have only Exchange Extension Properties
pages, Windows CE support and Fax services extensions. Thanks.
 
Couldn't hurt to give 3.8 a shot. (you should be able to install the new
version right on top of what you have.)
