Outlook 2003 folders

I have various sub folders of my inbox set up for different people or
companies.
What i want to happen, if possible, is if i recieve an email for folder 2
that is a sub folder of folder 1, then folder 1 automatically expands to show
sub folder 2 and to show there is a new email in the folder and the folder to
be bolded, as normal, so i am aware the new email has arrived. Is this
possible in outlook, or should it do it anyway and is there a setting i can
change to facilitate this.

do you have all the latest updates installed? if so, then it can't be
changed.
