Outlook 2003 Expires After option

Hi,
We're looking to start use Outlook 2003 and the 'Expires After' option
is greyed out. Anyone any ideas how I can enable this?

Do you have an email account set up? What type is it?

Its an Exchange Account which resides on an Exchange 2003 Server. It
works fine under the Outlook 2000 client, but the option is greyed out
in Outlook 2003.
