Outlook 2003 is installed on Win XP Pro computer which is
a client in a 20 user Small Business Server 2003 domain.
If OL 2003 is closed during the day while the computer is
running, it doesn't fully close (still running in the
processes window). Cannot get it to open up again unless
the process is stopped in the task manager or computer is
rebooted. Have this problem on two computers in two
separate networks. No mention that we can find in
knowledge base. Thank you.

I have experienced the same thing here. At close it sits
in the system tray and CPU goes to 99% in Task Manager

OS: XP PRO Tablet Ed.
Env: AD Domain (windows 2003)

If I run Outlook 2003 with the /noextensions switch, it
closes EVERY time. No other switches besides the /safe
switches benefits us in this way. I'm not even sure what
the reprecussions of the /noextensions switch are, but I
don't want that to be our solution!

Any other ideas?

are you using anything that accesses outlook data -- including syncing with
a pda?

there are two utilties that may help - a tray utility
http://sunflowerhead.com/software/knockout/ or a com add in
tml
