I have just installed a Broadband connection and now Outlook 2003 does
not send via SMTP, although it receives the POP mail without a problem.
Strangely enough, the test message (in test your account) still gets
sent. I have tried Outlook Express with exactly the same settings, and
it works just fine. I have installed Outlook 2000 with the same
settings and it also works just fine. If I use my modem to dial-up,
then Outlook 2003 works, but it doesn't send using the Broadband
connection. The mail still goes via the outbox and into the sent items
folder, but never gets any further (i.e. is not received by anyone).
This seems to be a bug with Outlook 2003 and a Broadband/DSL connection
.... I have seen a number of posts elsewhere on the web with people
experiencing exactly the same symptoms.
Is there any fix for this?
