Outlook 2003 display as plain text

Hello

I have used group policy to turn on the displaying of all messages in plain
text mode to protect from various threats. Unfortunately we would like to be
able to send nicely formatted HTML messages internally (for example from our
intranet) and have them display as they were intended to be displayed.

I thought that digitally signed messages might be left alone by the fact
that there was a separate tick box to convert them to plain text.
Unfortunately digitally signed messages are treated even worse as they don't
display at all unless this check box is enabled!

Does anybody have any suggestion as to how I can block just external e-mail
content?

Cheers,

Bob

Since Outlook 2003 is well-protected, I think this is a misguided policy.
I'd be interested in knowing why you believe you're better protected with
this policy in place.

Because no matter how "well protected" and that might be, it is better
protected by not running active content. If nothing else, it prevents
"inappropriate" images being shown by default to possibly sensitive members
of staff. Yes, I know that if the content is external it won't be displayed,
but the content could well be internal to the message itself.

But Outlook's Reading Pane _doesn't_ run active content, do you're still
gaining nothing.
