This is so odd, all of the sudden the other day I when into a folder,
and outlook crashed and restarted. Its a folder with a simple rule,
"any mail from xxxx account go to xxxx folder" - pretty basic I know.
I don't think its rule related but I though it's worth mentioning.
The entire PST is around 400megs so under 1/2 gig. The folder in
question is around 90,000. I updated to SP3, that fixed it for a day,
then it went back the crashing again....:( I have tried the inbox
repair tool also....I'm at a loss. I can access emails if I search
for them.....but if i try to directly access, I cant......any help
would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Office 2003 only has SP-1 available so I presume you are using Outlook 2002,
not 2003.

Outlook 2002 and earlier have an absolute limit of ~65,000 items, unless it
is on an Exchange server folder. Try archiving that folder to a more
manageable size and see if the problem is fixed.

I tried once to do that, It didnt seem to help so I deleted the archive
(kept a backup pst) and it still didnt work. You are correct, I am
using 2002 with sp3 :). I tried deleting some larger attachments, i
probably cleared about 50 megs easy. I then archived anything older
then a few months.....still just dies on that one folder. I checked
the size, its actually not the largest folder......hmmmmmm

Thanks for your pointers, if you have more im open :) THANKS!
