Help! I can't stop Outlook.exe from crashing and asking me to send a report
to Microsoft. Crash occurs in ntdll.dll and reports and "unhandled
exception".

Do you have any anti-virus, anti-spam, or other products that integrate
with Outlook? If so, try disabling them for now to see if they may be
causing the problem.

Jeff,

Yes, I use 'Norton Antivirus 2000', but I have tried disabling scan of
incoming and outgoing eMail and disabling Antivirus altogether. I have since
added Microsoft AntiSpyware. I am using Thunderbird during the interrum.

- Thank you, David

With Norton, it's often necessary to completely uninstall it and reinstall
it without the mail scanning feature in order to truly disable it.

Brian,

Thank you for your suggestion. But, I am reluctant to dive right in because
it is such a big deal. If I uninstall Norton, I may lose linkage to the pay
subscription service for my live updates. This has happened before. It is
not easy to reconnect via. Symantec. All this to, as Jeff Stephenson [MSFT]
recommends, "see if they may be causing the problem".

This sounds too much like the all too familiar parable, "Reinstall Windows
and call me afterwards."

Do you or anyone have any more concrete ways to determine what the problem
is and/or fix it?

- Thanks again and in the future, David

While I'm not familiar with Norton products, others who frequent this
newsgroup have followed the uninstall/reinstall advice and none have
reported issues with LiveUpdate not being able to work after that.
