Our fileserver crashed and was rebuilt - and the 12 PST files I use for Outlook 2003 cannot be opened in Outlook 2003 on XP.
The messsage I get is that "The file \\fileserver\users\me\vpdj.pst is not a personal folders file" when I try to open the PST file as an Outlook Data File in Outlook 2003.
The backup and restore was done with veritas backupexec. I have tried scanpst.exe and errors are detected but nothing is found/restored. I kept running it until no more errors, but to no avail. The files show about the right filesize -- all under 1 gig in size.
My guess is that the files were still open in Outlook while they were being backed up since I seem to work 24/7 and rarely close all my apps and shut down.
I am desperate to get these emails back from these dozen dead PST files. Is there any hope? Any suggestions?
