Hi

I have a problem at one of our clients where Outlook 2003 in exchange
cached mode won't pickup new emails.

If I turn off cached mode we can see all the emails.
If I move all the email in the inbox into a new folder, then turn
cached mode back on then new emails will appear.

I have tried creating a new mail profile but that didn't help.

We did update them from Symantec Antivirus 8 to version 9, including
updating the Symantec mail filtering for Exchange.

This is affecting multiple people at the company.

Uninstall the AV client from the laptop didn't help though.

At the moment I suspect that it's either a corrupt email or a problem
caused by the upgrade of Symantec Antivirus. I haven't tried
uninstalling Symantec mail filtering for Exchange.

There are only a couple of conflicts from a while ago (22/3/2005,
24/11/2004) in the synchronization errors folder.

Any ideas on how to fix this will be greatly received.

Well I finally got it sorted.

There were three emails that Symantec mail filtering for Exchange
hadn't been able to quarantine, so they were left in the inbox. Once I
deleted these emails everything worked fine. Symantec mail filtering
for Exchange is now set to delete viruses, so hopefully this won't
happen again!
