I'm running Exchange 2003 RTM with Outlook 2003B2 refresh .. and the cached
exchange mode consistantly fails. My inbox is 4.400 emails, and I have about
40k emails in all. After synching, there are "empty lines" in the inbox, and
it appears to be the latest few hundred emails every time.

Happened on several machines running Outlook 2k3, and only in cached
exchange mode. When in non-cached mode everything is just peachy. It appear,
to a layman, to be the indexes for the inbox folders that are out of whack,
but I can see no real way to have them recreated. In any case, my question
is - has anyone else seen this?

Ok, don't all rush to find me solutions; I think I found out what caused
this :-)

One of them "Welcome to Outlook" emails was still there - I don't usually
delete ANY email - and since it had a date of "None", somehow that scrwed up
Outlook 2k3's sorting, when sorting Ascending on date (and no other sort).
Random number of *later* emails disappeared and were replaced with blank
entries, just because there was ONE email with None as received date.

Personally, I'd call it a 'bug' but anyway, it was fixable by just deleting
the offending email. Why it would make a MONTHS worth of the *latest* emails
be displayed as blank entries, and only on ascending date sort, is beyond me
though.

Tada,
/Micke
