Outlook 2003 - AutoArchiving "runs" but is not moving items...

Items have modified dates well outside the range specified, so they should be
archived. System "runs" autoarchive (can see it in the status bar at the
bottom of Outlook 2003) but it happens ultra fast and doesn't move anything.
What to do...so frustrating!

When you say "outside the range" is the modified date of the items outside
the range? Archiving works on the modified date.

For example, I've told AutoArchiving to move anything older than 2 months to
Archive.pst. There are items in Personal Folders that are well outside that
date span. IE there are items with "date modified" values back in 2004. Yet
AutoArchive isn't picking them up and moving them over.

the main problem is usually the modified date. autoarchiving is set in the
folder properties for the folder you are referring to? right-click,
properties, autoarchive tab ....

AutoArchiving is set up correctly - settings have been applied across all
folders. Anything older than six weeks should be archived. I've got items
from as far back as 2003 - no way they were modified within the last 6 weeks
(unless by the system?).

Trying to get a 400MB .pst down to 100MB so I can port to a hosted Exchange
service...

Not a solution to the autoarchive issue, but the immediate solution is move
the messages by hand to the archive folder and then compact the old PST.

Yeah, I'd hoped to avoid that but getting my .pst size down is more important
than getting AutoArchiving working. :(
