Hello i am running Windows Vista on a Dell Inspirion 1720, i have Microsfot
Office 2003 and currently use Outlook 2003 for Email. I have used it to send
emails recently but it has stopped working, i get the following error message.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Hello', Account: 'mail.bigpond.com', Server:
'mail.bigpond.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I have contacted Bigpond and they have checked the system and my config data
and all seems to be ok, i have turned off my Symantec protection center and
tried.

I setup Windows mail to see if it would send, it did send a couple of emails
but now it has the same error message. It is as though something has closed
the port which allows me to connect to the server.

I removed Outlook 2003 and then reloaded it using the Original office disk
but still no avail.

Is there anything that i am missing besides a fully functioning brain:)

There are apparently a number of possible causes to this issue so I thought it best to refer you to Microsofts page

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514

I hope this helps

Best Regards

I am having a similar issue with Office 2003 on XP. I have deleted the
offensive email and have created a new profile. The error is consistent only
with messages with attachments.
