Hi
When my XP(sp2) laptop is docked in the office under my Online local profile
it
syncronises with the *.ost file in that profile.
When I am remote, I use an offline different profile and have been able to
VPN in to
the exchange server, but it then syncs with the *.ost in my offline profile.
I have managed to get my online and off line *.pst to be the same for my
IPAQ PDA, which has personal information in it and has nothing to do with
the
business information on Exchange. That is why I use the pst.
but I am having no luck doing the same with my *.ost for both profiles.
Any help appreciated.

Why use two profiles? I use the same profile whether I'm online or remote
via VPN and Outlook works like a champ.

What is in each profile, and which one are you using when you connect via
VPN? I think all you need are two profiles: one for Exchange (whether on the
LAN or remote - use cached mode) and one for personal data that uses a PST
file & Internet Mail. Tell Outlook to prompt you for a profile to use when
starting. A profile with just a PST & Internet Mail in it can't possibly
sync anything to an OST from Exchange server data...

If I've misunderstood, pls. correct me.

Exactly what I do. Two profiles, one for Exchange and one for everything
else.

.....also has the advantage of not granting your company ownership of your
personal mail, etc...
