Outlook 2002 will Not save messages into Inbox folder

I am receiving Email and I get the notice that new mail has arrived and if I
want to read it. I say OK and I am able to read the Email but after closing
the message the header is Not saved in the Inbox folder therefore I cannot
read at a later time.
Any help is appreciated

Make sure View>Unread messages is not selected.
