Hi:

I'm experiencing a problem with my Outlook 2002 (SP2), I'm running Windows
XP Pro.

The problem is that once I start Outlook 2002 it works fine for a while and
then all of sudden the hard disk revolves with its typical sound and I see a
dialog box saying "Outlook had some un-expected Error and Needs Restart,
Sorry of Inconvenience" and then it Re-Starts. There is no fix timing for
such event but it happens after few minutes of activity in which I can send
and receive emails with out any problem.

This also happens when I'm trying to write a new email and when I click send
while completing the spell checking Outlook hangs and every thing freezes
and after few seconds on the top bar the writing " NOT RESPONDING" appears.
I then have to close the new message window and start again, you can imagine
the frustration it causes to any one when you have to write an email again.

On the Error Dialog Box the more information section displays the following;

AppName: OUTLOOOK.EXE
ModName: KERNEL32.DLL
AppVer: 10.0.4510.0
ModVer: 5.1.26001106
OffSet: 0001a67a

I will appreciate if some one help me figure out what's causing this to
happen! and what is the remedy.

Thanks / Jim

Did the Detect & Repair as well!

I didn't get you! how to apply the SP2! as it is already applied, I did
tried doing it but I get the message that the files are already been updated
and it doesn't proceed further.

Is there any way I can do a force SP2 reinstall just for Outlook 2002 so
that it over write and replaces any files which might be causing the error
to occur.

I remember reading a news post in this group some one suggest on how to
replace the DLL's and some other files using command line interface and that
time I tried it and it did the job but I have lost the email and the
instruction set. Please see if you have some way of doing it!

I have tried detect & repair its not working.

Thanks for the all the help!

Regards / Jim

I hope you made a typo with "Outloook" and did not copy
paste it from your eventviewer...

I'm not sure what's wrong but your Outlook is not up to
date for what I can see by the version number.

Other then just updating the client you could do a step
more prior to that and that is reapplying Servicepack 2
(or even a Help-> Detect and repair before that).

I hope this will solve your problem.
