When I try to start Outlook 2002, a version of Office 2003 that was
pre-loaded on my computer tries to start up and configure. I don't know why
this started happening, but I think it has something to do with Windows
update. For years this trial version was there and had no effect on Outlook
2002. I tried to do a system restore to my old settings and it did no good. I
can cancel the 2003 start up/configure/startup and it will let me use Outlook
2002. However, it is very annoying to have to cancel this process everytime I
open up Outlook. I have also tried to get rid of the trial version or
whatever of Office 2003 but it also deletes Outlook 2002. I don't want to
lose my settings. Am I stuck? Thanks!!

You can uninstall Office 2003 if you don't use it. It won't uninstall
Outlook 2002. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't affect any settings.
