outlook 2002 shuts down as soon as it is started

am running outlook 2002. all well until installation of latest updates from
Microsoft office update webpage. Now when it opens I get about 10-15 seconds
before the "encountered a problem and needs to close" window comes up &
closes the program. Outlook express works well, but my PDA requires Outlook
to synchronize. Any help?

Try opening Outlook once from the Start | run box....

<browse to full path to outlook.exe> /safe

Does it open then?
If so, check for problem add-ins.
