Hi, I am trying to synchronise my Outlook 2002 with my laptop and desktop.
I need to enable my PST folders for sharing on my desktop, but the box is
greyed out with a check box ticked in "keep folder private". I can enable
sharing on my laptop. How do I enable my PST folders on my desktop for
sharing?

I'm sorry to say, .PST files are not shareable; you can open them from more
than one Outlook client (your desktop OR your laptop), but the first one to
open it will have exclusive and total access to it until closed. Look here:

Hi, I have just bought a program that relies on the other LAN folder to be
shareable! (http://www.synchpst.com/support.htm) This page shows that they
expect a pst folder to be shareable? I can also, enable sharing, on my
laptop???
I've contacted their Tech Support, and am waiting for a reply.
Bit confused!

The web page you quote expects the WINDOWS FOLDER where the .PST file is
LOCATED to be shared. It makes no reference to the .PST file, ITSELF, being
shareable. In one case, you're sharing a file system folder, in the other
you're sharing a file; this is comparing apples and oranges.

My question was I was unable to share my pst folder! (Box greyed out)
I've received a reply from their tech support and they suggested sharing the
drive complete. This has enabled me to now, share the pst folder!
Thanks
