After completing a send/receive task, the progress window does not close by
itself. I synchronize 3 email accounts, one is a POP3 and the other are
Hotmail (Http). The window shows the tasks are complete, but I have to
manually close the progress window.

When the window is open, look for the "pushpin" icon in one of the corners
of the window. Click on it and the window will close immediately and, then,
every time your mail check completes thereafter.

It's not the pushpin. Is it possible that I have more than one .net passport
(hotmail) synchronizing? I'm not having the best of luck working with
multiple .net's - however, this problem is specific to the progress window.
I have even check the box to hide the window during send/receive but it still
appears. I've also done a 'repair' on Outlook. Still have the problem.

Only you would know that. I certainly wouldn't.

If the progress window is appearing even after you have unselected the
option for it to do so, I don't know what else to tell you. Have you tried
re-installing Outlook?

Others have found that this no longer happens if you enable the status bar.

*L* Yeah, I typed faster than my brain thought. I do have multiple passports
synchronizing. Thought that was perhaps the problem. Actually Tillman's
post resolved the concern. Thanks!
