Not sure this is the correct forum, but none of the "Microsoft
Outlook" newsgroups seem to be active.

I have been using Outlook for some time and used to get mail
downloaded automatically upon opening Outlook.

Recently did a reinstall of Windows XP and Outlook and since then
can't find the setting for automatic download of mail. Have to click
the send/receive button to initiate - and that is so terribly wearing
on my fingers { ;- ).

Can anyone tell me where the setting is for auto download.

Thanks

I forgot where mine was too, but this group gave me the answer so here it
is. Hope this helps.
Tools > Options, Mail Setup tab, click the Send/Receive... button and you'll
find the settings on this page :-)

Thanks for the response, but fraid I still can't see it.

Following your directions takes me to the "Send/Recieve Groups" page
which allows each individual account to be edited - don't see anything
on the individual accounts that helps.

That page also has setting for "all accounts". They include
When Outlook is online -
"Include this group in send/recieve"
"schedule an automatic send/recieve every x minutes"
"perform an automatic send receive when exiting"

but nothing for send/recieve on startup or something similar.

This is Outlook from the Office XP Pro disk.
