Outlook 2002 Goes to Web Sites Contained in Emails?

I have just started to use O/L after using Agent for many years
- because I have bought an iPAQ and it will automatically
synchronise with O/L.

I received an HTML email (from DABS) which must have contained a
link of some sort because when I viewed the email my browser
fired up - I noticed and stopped it immediately.

I doubt it was anything nasty (although from somebody else it
might be) but what on earth is O/L doing, this is asking for
trouble.

Is this normal behaviour? Can it be turned off?

Agent was set up to 'wrap up' and delete HTML emails, can O/L
have a similar message filter set up?

Any input would be appreciated.

I've never encountered an Email that will launch a browser without clicking
on a link.

You can force all mail to plain text with Outlook 2002. See

Many thanks for that.
Having deleted the message and looked at it again in the dustbin
it didn't fire anything up so I must have clicked on something I
guess.
