outlook 2002 corrupted?

I cannot send an email that is anything larger than a couple of paragraphs of
text. If I try to send anything larger it will time out even though I have
the time out setting to 5 minutes. I suspect my installation of Outlook 2002
is corrupted however when I try to erase and reload office I get the same
results. Perhaps my windows xp pro installation is corrupted I guessed then.
So I did an update reinstall to no good luck. Can anyone help? I do not
want to have to format the drive and reinstall from scratch.

Are you using Word as your email editor? if so tried setting to plain text
instead?
Tried running the inbox repair tool scanpst.exe on your pst?
Run the Detect/Repair option within OL?
Turned off any AV email scanning?
Just a few suggestions, not that I would have thought any of the above would
neccessarily cure the odd problem.
