I use Outlook 2002 w/XP on my company network. I have read many
postings on: 1) addresses populating w/first names vs last, 2)
addresses being populated with the entire email address vs just seeing
the person's name, 3) seeing the person' name twice in the Name Box
when addressing from Contacts in the To: section of an email - one for
their email address, one for their fax. I haven't been able to resolve
any of these issues. One posting said that if you find the file with a
..nk2 extention and rename it or move it, you can start fresh. I tried
both of these and received the following warning "Cannot Rename....It
is Being Used by Another Person or Program." I do not have any
applications open when trying this. Can anyone please give me help
with any of these items or this recommended solution?

If you saw these posts, then you also saw the many, many times they've been
answered.

You obviously have Outlook open, although you may be unaware that you do.
Look in the Task Manager and find any "OUTLOOK.EXE" processes and stop them.

as to your problem 1, click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing
directories or address books>Next. Select "Outlook Address Book" and click
Change. Choose the ordering radio button you prefer. Click Close, then
Finish.
Problem 2 is controlled by your "Display as" values of your Contacts.
Problem 3 can be worked around by putting a letter or phrase (like "F" or
"FAX") in from of the Fax number of the Contact so that Outlook doesn't
recognize the value as a phone number.
