Hi Folks,

someone can explain (and perhaps solve) this?!:
Using Windows 2000 Professional SP3 /w Office 2000 SP3 and Outlook XP SP2,
Outlook has been configured (one or more) IMAP-Accounts, we want to add a
MAPI-Account with the ORKTOOLS XP Maintenance Wizard (for use with an
Exchange 2003 Server). After i have executed the maintwiz.exe with the
appropriate configured .cmw, there is no such account created if you go to
the Control Panel - mail - accounts. Once you start Outlook, it hangs with
100% CPU usage on outlook.exe. After you have been at least once in the
Control Panel - Mail - Accounts and started Outlook once, next time you
start outlook it will show the new account as well as you can see the
account now in the control panel - mail - accounts list. But if you don't go
at least once in the accounts list, you can start outlook as often as you
wish, it will hang every time!
If you go and have a look @ the registry, the account information under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles is not available before at least you started
outlook once.
My Question now is, is it a bug or a feature?! How can i avoid the "hang up"
Problem on Outlook or how can i otherwise create this account information
(MAPI for Exchange Communication) for/in outlook?

Best regards

Small Addon:

I have found out, that i could use the down under mentioned .CMW file when
there is no Account configured previously to the task in the mailsettings.
Means we have configured one or even more IMAP-Accounts and the local
service account (lokal inbox etc.). What could this be? I have seen that
service1 is standard configured to be as follows (from older CWM-File which
created the initial IMAP accounts):

[General]
Custom=1
ProfileName=
DefaultProfile=Yes
OverwriteProfile=Yes
ModifyDefaultProfileIfPresent=FALSE

[Service List]
Service1=Personal Folders
Service2=LDAP Directory
Service3=Outlook Address Book

[...]

and this is the new one which should apply the Exchange settings:

[General]
Custom=1
DefaultProfile=Yes
OverwriteProfile=Append
ModifyDefaultProfileIfPresent=TRUE

[Service List]
Service1=Microsoft Exchange Server
ServiceEGS=Exchange Global Section

[...]

I hope this is not the cause for the not startable Outlook.?!
Perhaps and hopefully this helps to find "the cure".

THX for anything!!!
