Outlook 2000 SP1 is the best Outlook that Microsoft has ever come out with. Sure it may not have all VBA 6.3
compatibility but it is one kick arse application. It's not numbnut disabled and after fighting with Outlook XP and
Outlook 2003 I'm surprised security issues have resulted in such a mess as these newer applications. It is simple easy
to handle the defaults no unpleasant surprises.

Good to hear you like the product.

SP2 and SP3 have been released for this product. Is there any reason why you
don't have it up-to-date?

See this link for details:

Yeah the e-mail security nag. Don't need it don't want it and I wish I could install the other SPs for the other Office 2000 applications. But can't except for removing the installer specific to Outlook 2000. I've done that before but really didn't see any improvement in anything so SP1 is where I'm at.

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to when you say "...Yeah the e-mail
security nag.", but if it's the Security Update imposed by SP2, you'll see that
there's a registry workaround incorporated in SP3. See the write-up in the link
that I previously provided. There are a host of updates/fixes in SP3 that you're
missing. Here's an excerpt from the page:

---quote---
Users who avoided SP2 because of its inclusion of the Outlook E-mail Security
Update may want to consider SP3, which provides a registry setting to unblock
certain attachment file types that Microsoft considers dangerous.

To make things even easier, simply install the shareware add-in "Attachment
Options", available at this site:

Well the attachement issue is one that I want to avoid and if it can be fixed that's good but there is another issue. And
that is being able to read the body of received e-mail in VBA without the nag. I believe that will still happen with the
security update. That disables my ability to use VBA so as far as I know the attachemnt and this issue are seperate I do
not know if that is also effected by the e-mail security update. I know in Outlook XP there is the nag that stops me
from sending e-mail programatically and in Outlook 2003 we have the inability to read the HTML body of received e
mail without the nag. See in Outlook 2000 SP1 I don't have to worry about any of that stuff. So here I sit at that SP.

The trouble is Microsoft wants me to avoid sending Melissa and I Love You. I'm pretty sure I can take care of that on
my own and don't want my application disabled because some may not believe I can.
