is there any reason that (OUTLOOK.EXE*) sould be running without ME having
start up the program.

I see it in the task manerger using up to 50% cpu resources .

Is this a normal action of the program??

thanx in advance

No....check in your startup folder & in msconfig to see what might be doing
it. Anything like FindFast or Office speed launch or whatever it was called,
disable it.

Beyond that, it could be handheld sync software, fax software, anything else
that has hooks into outlook & starts/launches automatically.
