I have a remote user who is running Windows 2000 Pro and Office 2000. He
states that he is able to browse the web just fine, and is able to send
email outside of the company from OWA, but when he tries to send from
Outlook it won't go.

I have tried moving him between servers (we have two Exchange 5.5
servers) and that doesn't help. I've verified his network and Outlook
settings (he receives and sends email just fine within the company
anyway.) I've even set up his account on a machine in my office (Win98,
Office 97) and it works for me.

I have also had him install and run AdAware SE and Spybot S&D 1.3. Some
spyware was found and removed, but he's still unable to send outside the
company.

He's going to try setting up his account on a Win98 box in his office
there to see if that'll work to rule out a problem with the WAN
configuration.
Thanks..
John

P.S... If you wish to reply via email, you may do so by removing the
obvious spam block in my reply address.

User has not had a chance to set up the account on a Win98 box in his
office yet. However, I logged into his machine from remote and verified
the settings. Then I tried to send myself an email and it locked Outlook
up. So, something is not right. I'm pretty sure it's not DNS or directly
related to his Exchange account as he's able to surf the 'Net and I'm able
to add his account to a machine here and send myself an email from his
account to my external email.

Any suggestions? thanks in advance...
