I posted this message in microsoft.public.outlook a couple of days ago,
but as haven't yet had a response, I thought I would post it here.
BTW, what is the difference between "microsoft.public.outlook" and
"microsoft.public.outlook.general"?

Nature of the problem:

"Until recently, I have been running Office 2000 (Outlook 2000) under
Windows XP Home on a laptop. I decided to upgrade to Office 2003
(Outlook 2003) via my user account which has administrator privelages.

Installation went fine and I followed it up with an upgrade to SP3 (at
least, I think it was SP3). I then loaded up Outlook 2003 and did my
usual task of customising the toolbars. I did this by de-selecting the
Standard and Formatting toolbars (in the customise tollbars view) and
then I created three new toolbars as "username"1, "username"2 and
"username"3. This was fine.

I then logged off as myself and logged on to my wife's user account
(which also has
administrator privelages) and went through each of the Office 2003
applications to ensure that they were installed.

So far, nothing untoward...

I then loaded up Outlook 2003 and proceeded to customise her toolbars in
like manner to my own. I was surprised to see a toolbar in the toolbar
list "username"1 (where username is her name and not mine) but the
buttons on this toolbar were fairly standard and not ones that I would
set up.

I ignored this point and continued with customising the toolbars, only
to realise that in all the menu options available there were no menu
items for "Reply", "Reply to All" and "Forward".

I decided to investigate further and have discovered that the following
menu options appear on the Edit menu of my installation of Outlook but
not on my wife's:
"Select All", "Delete", "Move to Folder", "Copy to Folder", "Mark as
unread", "Mark
all as unread", "Categories" (all other options exist on both
installations).
Similarly, the following menu options appear on my Actions menu but not
my wife's:
"Reply", "Reply to All", "Forward" (all other menu options exist on both
installations)

I haven't check other menus.

Does anyone know what I can do to correct the situation on my wife's
installation so that she gets the full range of menu options?

Thanks for your help...."

Hi Martin
The only thing I can think of is that the file for the custom views has
become damaged.
Do the following:
start-run and type outlook /cleanviews
OR
Try renaming views.dat (you will have to recreate all of the custom views
again for either option)

Cheers
