Hi

It takes about 40 seconds for Outlook 2000 to open on
Windows XP pro SP2. No Sypware or viruse has been
detected. Other than that the machine is running fine.

Any idea please ?

Thanks

Close Outlook. Find and rename outcmd.dat to .old. (If using Windows 2000
or XP, you will need to enable searching hidden and system folders.)

Once you have done so, reopen Outlook and it should open fine. You will
need to rebuild any custom toolbars or customizations as the file outcmd.dat
controls how the toolbars display. When it becomes corrupted, it will cause
Outlook to hang because it cannot create the toolbars that you expect.

Hi Best,

If the problem still persists, please also perform the following
troubleshooting steps:

Step 1: Start Outlook in Safe Mode
===================================================
Run "Outlook.exe /Safe" to start Outlook in safe mode. This problem may be
caused by some corrupted Outlook add-ins

If in Outlook Safe Mode, the problem doesn't occur again. Please disable
all add-ins.

1. Start up Outlook in normal mode
2. Click Tools, then Options
3. In the Other Tab, click Advanced Options
4. Click Add-in Manager, CLEAR all the check boxes in Add-in Manager.
5. Click COM-addin, CLEAR all check boxes.
6. Reload Outlook in normal mode to see whether the same problem still
persists

If this problem persists, please go to next step.

Step 2: Create new Outlook profile

A new profile uses refresh Outlook user environment. So we can check if the
problem is caused by corrupted PST file.

To back up and restore data between profiles, please refer to:

Hope the information helps.
