Outlook 2000 loose e-mail after opening

Once I open a e-mail in Outlook 2000 is automatically
disappears. I've looked in my options folder and find
nothing amiss. I've looked in every other folder
including delete and archives' and can not find the e-mail
anywhere. Its just totally disappears from the inbox once
I click on to read the e-mail. I'm losing all my mail to
outer space - PLEASE HELP.
