I have become quite fed up with Outlook not allowing me to see the
source (the WHOLE source) of messages. Additionally, I cannot force
Outlook 2000 to NOT display HTML messages.

Recently I got an email with a tag <IMG SRC="CID:xxxxxxx"> I don't
know where this image is, but if I export it, there's an animation
that does not show up. Clearly it is some kind of hidden encoding. I
cannot get access to that data whatsoever, unless there's some option
I am missing?

Please advise. If this is simply a case of That's What Microsoft
Assumes You Want, then I am going to finally once and for all DUMP
Outlook as my email client.

Please let me know if there are any options I've missed.
Thanks.

Outlook 2000 is quite old and no longer being enhanced.

You may find a tool like PocketKnife Peek to be valuable in this case. See
