I am using Outlook 2000 (Corporate or Workgroup). I have 2
email addresses set up in Outlook, my email and my bosses
(who does not have a computer). What I want to have happen
is sometimes send an email where the recipient sees my
name in the "From" box and when needed shows my bosses
name in the "From" box.

What is happening is when I start a new email and I put my
bosses name in the "from" box and click send and I get a
dialog box that reads, "You do not have permission to send
the message on behalf of the specified user". What am I
doing wrong?

Hi Dan
Two trails of thought for this one:
1) you can go into your bosses email account and add
yourself in as a delegate (Tools, Options and Delegates
tab) This should then allow you to send on his behalf.

2) You can set up a seperate profile so that when you log
into his profile then you can send as him, or if you log
into your profile then you can send as you.
If this is what you are looking for then you can do the
following:
Go into Tools, Options menu
Click on the "Mail Services" tab
Click on "Prompt for a profile to be used"
Log off of Outlook
When you start it back up then you will have the
opportunity of setting up a new profile or using the
default one that is set up (it probably has a less than
helpful default name of Ms Exchange settings or equivalent)
Go through the wizard to help you set up the new profile,
you will then be able to pick that second profile from the
drop down list when you next start Microsoft Outlook

Hope this helps
