I just got a new computer with XP on it. I loaded my
Office 2000 on it. Now when I send an email with an
attachment through Outlook 2000, the message arrives, but
there's no attachment? Where have I gone wrong?

BTW, if I use Outlook Express, it works fine, and the
attachment comes through.

What mail program are the recipients using and what format are you using for
the messages with attachments? Make sure you use HTML or Plain Text format
when sending messages to Outlook Express users, or users of any other e-mail
client besides Outlook. Don't use Rich Text format, which is proprietary to
Outlook and will cause problems for other recipients, one of which is that
they won't get your attachments -- they'll likely get an unreadable
attachment with a .dat extension instead.

I'm sending an Excel spreadsheet from my computer to
another in our office. I'm using Outlook 2000 and sending
it to another user using Outlook Express. The message
comes through, but there's nothing attached. No "DAT", no
nothing.

When I send the Excel spreadsheet from my computer using
O/E, it arrives perfectly. What is Outlook 2000 doing to
the outgoing attachments?

But did you check what format you're sending the messages in? Also, are you
using Word as your e-mail editor?
