I am using outlook 2000 premium and I opened it today and
found all the mail from 2/17/2004 through 3/5/2004
missing. What went wrong? Is there any way to retrieve
the messages? Any ideas?

Is the mail missing or do you have a view set on the mail window? Check to
make sure it says all messages, not just Unread messages. (Hint- right
click in the toolbar area and enable the advanced toolbar for easy access.)

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Rosalynd asked:

The same thing happened with my sent items when the clock
on my computer was wrong. Since the date and time were
wrong, the items were given a bogus date and were saved
at the bottom of my sent list instead of at the top. You
might want to double check your computer's date and time,
and scroll down your list to see if you can find your
items.

This problem I do recognize, i also had a certain period (3 days) that dissapeared. Nowhere at the harddisk it could be found. Not even searching with binary searching utilities, It did happen when compacting folders.

Just info, whish I could explain, sorry.
