What's the difference between manually moving mail to the Archive
Folder and hitting File, Archive? Does the mail end up in the same
place? Steve

It's the same thing.

Jocelyn, just to be sure we're on the same page: when I hit File,
archive I see a little moving icon at the bottom of the preview pane
and a message saying the documents are being archived to C: Docuements
and Settings/Administrator/ Local Settings/ Application Data/
Microsoft/ Outlook/ archive.pst

and when I say manually moving mail to the archive folder I mean to
highlight the mail in question , right click and pick Move to Folder
where the archive folder is in the Move Items box right above Personal
Folders.

As long as the Archive PST you see in your Folder List is the same Archive
file defined in File>Archive, there's no difference. Keep in mind, though,
that every single folder can have it own, separate archive PST specified.
Since you'd have to have set this up, however, you'd know if that were the
case.
