outloo express/windows mail

I have a laptop running XPsp2 and a desktop running Vista.Can I sucessfully
use Outlook Express with XP and Windows Mail with Vista for the same email
address with the same email server and ISP?

Yes. If you want to retrieve all messages on both machines, do the same as
if they were the save operating systems.

On both machines:

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - Check: Leave a copy of
messages on the server.

On one machine only, check to Delete messages after X days to assure the
server does not get clogged up.

Yes, you can, but you must configure both email programs to leave
a copy of messages on the mail server.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, Advanced.
Enable the option "Leave a copy of messages on server."
You should also select one of the two 'remove' options.
Be sure to do this on both computers.
