How can I disable mail accounts in outlook 2003, and how to export/import
accounts...??

This was very simple in earlier versions, but in this version I cannot find
these options..

Kent.
Norway.

Re import/export, I don't believe this is possible anymore, for some reason
(I miss it, too).

Re disable - you mean you just don't want to check a certain account when
doing send/receive? I don't have OL2003, but in XP, you'd go to your
send/receive settings and untick a box, I believe....

In Outlook 2003, you cannot export accounts. this was disabled in Outlook
2002.

And, what do you mean, disable mail accounts in Outlook? Simply remove the
account.

I mean to uncheck a mail account, so it isn't active while
sending/receiving. Of course it can be removed completely, but this isn't
very convenient since I have several such accounts, and since they cannot be
imported back later. And Then I must enter all account-data each time..

I cannot find an uncheck-box like in the Outlook XP and earlier v.

Ok, it was disabled..I miss that function.

I wish to diasble one or several mail accounts by clicking a check box. When
removing them entirely, it's a mess when I wish to see the mail in these
accounts again. Since they cannot be exported/imported anymore either, I
must enter all the account-information each time...Not very practical....

Strange that Bill has removed this very simple and practical function..

..

Outlook has never supported an import/export account feature - OE does but
Outlook is not OE.

Tools, Send/Receive Groups, Send/Receive settings. Create 2 or more send
receive groups to control how and when they are checked. Note that you can't
control it based on connection.

Good tip! Thanks.
But, weren't there a "disable" function in earlier versions of Outlook(Not
OE)?

Outlook 2000 and earlier did support importing and exporting internet mail
accounts. It was removed in 2002.

Only in Internet only mode and wasn't available to the majority of Outlook
users.
