Outline Feature

I am using Work 2000

Can anyone direct me to an easy tutorial or lesson on
using Word's Outline feature. I have and still am having
a horrible time using this feature. I can not get blank
lines to insert where I want them so I end up putting in
my own numbers - which of course defeats the whole reason
for using the outline features. I need help!
