Hello all,

I have just discovered an issue where, even though out of
office is enabled, an auto reply is not sent through when
an incoming message is delivered to the mailbox.

I have seen KB 309219 and it doesn't apply. We have tried
this and it hasn't corrected the problem. All our servers
are running SP3 along with the post SP3 fixes. Other
mailboxes on the same server are not experiencing this
issue, whether out of office is set up through the
Outlook client or through OWA.

Anyone else experience this issue and if so, what did you
do to fix the issue? Is this an attribute that needs to
be modified?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Greg

Greg;

I am having the same issue and was loggin on to post it also. We are using
SBS2000 running Exchanger Server 2000 and when we set up OUT OF OFFICE, it
sends the response to Internal Users on the EXSERVER but anyone sending from
external sources are NOT receiving the Response.

We need this answered as fast as we can before the holdiday leave starts.

Thanks

Hello John,

What you are experiencing can be solved by doing what I
have posted below. This was what I sent to another
individual that was experiencing your issue. What we are
experiencing doesn't work internally nor externally.

Take care, John

This is a server related fix. You need to go to Exchange
System Manager, Global Settings, Internet Message
Formats, and select Properties on the Default option.
From there, select the Advanced Tab and then select the
box that states "Allow Out Of Office Responses". This
will enable "Out of Office" replies outside you
organization.

Sincerely,

Greg

Very good. I just found that myself on the Google pages. Tried it and
restarted services. We'll see if it works.

Remember that advice runs both ways. It will send out of office replies to
EVERYONE who sends you mail, including spammers. You should also be aware
that you are opening up your organization for a potentially deadly (to the
Exchange server) mail loop if any of your users have forwarding to their ISP
turned on.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to the
Swen virus, all e-mails sent to my actual account will be deleted w/out
reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer
