How do I access the out of office assistant in Outlook 2000? We used it in my
work four years ago but I don't have it on my current computer which also
uses Outlook 2000.

If you open Outlook 2000 and select Help | About Microsoft Outlook. Does
the second or third line from the top read Internet Mail Only mode? If yes,
the feature is unavailable. The Out of Office assistant is only available
to users that connect to a Microsoft Exchange server via the Microsoft
Exchange transport.

If you are working with a POP3 or IMAP account in Outlook 2000, the best you
could do is use the rules wizard to simulate the out of office assistant.
Downside is that Outlook has to be running the entire time you are away.
