I have just reinstalled windows xp and service pack 1 and 2 problems have occured. firstly my sound card only operates 1 speaker (i have reinstalled the drivers etc, but no change). Secondly when I log on to the internet (56k modem) i get the message "incoming call ignored" and then the connection is lost, this happens 2 or 3 times then i get the message "windows is shuttung down, because the PRC has been unexpectantly terminated", could somebody help with one or both of the above points.

Firstly check your sound card settings and speaker settings in volume
control. Ensure the balance isn't completely ...errrr.... unbalanced. Also
go to
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sasser.removal.tool.html
and download this removal tool to deal to your nasty sasser worm. Then apply
the patch from microsoft update website. Oh, by the way, make sure you turn
off system restore before you run the fix tool.
