out of environment space

Im getting a "out of environment space" when working in a
ms dos window in XP. Im trying to run an old DOS program
I have. Does anyone know how to fix this in XP? I tryed
to adjust the memory in the properties section of the
shortcut but that was unsuccessful.

In the Properties, Memory page of the program (or of a shortcut made to
it) there should be a drop down to adjust 'Initial Environment'
