Oultook Subfolder View Pane

How do I view Subfolders in a View Pane
like the way I do in File Explorer?
Currently if I click on a folder, the only
thing shown on in the view pane is blank white
space until I finally drill down far enough into
the subfolder structure to where items are stored -
then the View Pane displays the individual items.

Outlook isn't like Windows Explorer. It shows only the list of items in the
right-hand pane, not the list of subfolders.
