If you uninstall Norton (or do a system restore, presuming your OS has that
feature), does Outlook work?
Make sure you're using the latest version of Norton.

I am also having this problem. I uninstalled MacAfee and installed
EZAntivirus. I was able to uninstall all of Office and reinstall (several
times). It seems to work, but then I get the message that PSTPRX.DLL is
missing and Outlook can't open. I tried going back a version to Outlook 2000
(maybe my Office XP - 2002 CD is corrupted?), and it seems to install OK, but
as soon as I open Outlook, I get the message that it has encountered a
problem and has to close.

if i do a system restore does it wipe out all the config changes i've made
with the rest of the sofware installed ?

I eventuallt fixed this by right-clicking on the outlook icon, selecting
profiles, and choosing a different profile to be the default. Go figure. Kate

that's unfortunate

Yes, it can be. One of the things about system restore, though, is that you
can create a restore point before installing software or doing anything that
you fear might mess things up - and then restore back if you have problems.
I realize that won't help you now, but you might make a note of it for
future reference. Good luck!

thank you for your help
