When I close Outlook 2002 (running XP) the outlook.exe
remains in processes under task manager. What is causing
this and how can I resolve it. Anyone konw?

I had the same problem on Outlook 2000, along with it
crashing with a message that Outlook had deteceted errors
and was closing down. As soon as OK was ticked on the
error message outlook closed down.

Mine was solved by
Close Outlook
Reaname file called outcmd.dat to outcmd.old
Restart Outlook, and a new file is created automatically,
and since I have had no problems. Delete the old file if
it works.
You will find that any customised toolbars reset to
default - a small price to pay for stabilising Outlook. If
it does not work, youi can delete the new file, and rename
the old file and try something else.
- see outlook keeps crasing on 26th May on this
discussion board.
