I know this is OT but someone might be interested.

Yahoo have got a special offer on registering .com domains at just $2.99
a year.

Go to
http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains/

One glitch for people based outide the US is when you fill in the form
it won't let you through without defining a US state. But you can
correct details afterwards so the official registraiton and the credit
card details end up being correct.

What that ends up meaning is that you can still just sign up for the
domain with no hosting. $2.99/yr is what I'll be paying -- and you can
even sign up and pay for 5yrs if you want, to guarantee there can't be
any nasty price increases round the corner.

This offer is NOT good for existing domain names. Yahoo does not support
transfer from your current registrar.

Even though you can pay for existing domain name, only after you pay you
realize that you can not transfer it.

Thanks for that heads up
