Is there a way to track how much time a person uses a particular app. on a
weekly basis? More specifically is there a way for me to track how much
time one of my employees plays Solitaire in a given week? And if XP can't
do this then is there a 3rd party app. that can?

I don't have a direct answer for your question, but I think you're
approaching the issue from the wrong direction. Is the employee's work not
getting done? If that's the case, you need to deal with that issue directly
instead of sneaking around and trying to catch him/her playing solitaire. If
the employee is a slacker, he/she will find another way to goof off if
access to solitaire is stifled. If the employee's work is getting done at
the level expected, why do you care?

No it's not quite like that. He's a local sales rep for a national line of
product that we carry in our store. To carry this line the manufacturer has
specific guidelines that we have to follow and one of them is to provide and
maintain a showroom for their product on the premises. Well they're now
pushing us to hire a second employee to help maintain the show room and our
complaint is that the current salesman has way too much free time on his
hands as it is, and a second employee would be a waste. The current rep
meets his sales quotas and is a fairly good employee, but he spends several
hours a day playing Solitaire. So I'm thinking that if I can track how lone
he plays I can to the manufacturer and say "look, our current sales rep has
more than enough time to maintain the showroom, after all he play's
solitaire for X amount of hours a week."
