hello guys,

I really doin't know what is happening to my PC. Hope someone can help here.

The PC was on for couple of hours and running fine. When I got back and
wanted to use it the screen was blank
I thought it could be in stand by mode but then when I pressed the buttons
no response was there ... I though maybe
the pc is frozen so tried to to press the Reset button but still there was
no response. Then I finally thought maybe I turn
it off and then on and could sort the problem. Very surprisingly even the
turn off button was not working!!!

So, I took the power off ... now when I keep the power on and switch the Pc
on its going back to that mood, means I can't
do anything as explained above ... then only way i can turn it off is to
take the power off ...

Has anyone ever had such a wiered problem before? Why this is happening?
Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Get someone to check the PSU to see if that`s working.
It`s supposed to supply 5v and 12volts to the system.
If that`s not happening, nothing will.

You will probably get better help if you ask in the correct group Annie.

When you next re-start press the F8 ? key to start in "Safe mode". See
if things work from there. If so then there is a program that is
loading that is causing the problem.

Regards, John.

sorry, which news group I should post to?
I couldn't find any appropriate one.

Hi Annie!

What PC do you have?
What Motherboard do you have?
What Operating system and so on....

alt.comp.xxxxxxxx (Compaq Computers for example)
alt.comp.periphs.xxxxxxx (ECS Elitegroup Mainboard...)
alt.comp.os.xxxxxxxx (Mirkosoft operating system...)

The NG(newsgroup)-names I wrote out of my mind, I can give you no proof
for correctness. Search out the usenet for words you have! You could
even try it in an IBM (IBM Computers) NG, why not?

Best Regards,

Daniel Mandic
